A Trip to Illinois and Indiana

We drove to Illinois on Saturday the 25th to see Nat, Christy, George, Henry, Lena, Adam and Samuel. While at Nat's we took a walk while the boys rode bikes and then we went to the climbing wall in Glen Ellyn. George and Henry are real pros at the wall but it was John's first "climb". The guys later played soccer while we watched.
George and I have the same birthday, September 4th, and I was very surprised when not only did Christy have a lovely sit down dinner but afterwards they brought in a birthday cake! We had brought George's present of a bow and arrows for his 8th birthday. Later that day we went over to the park and shot the arrows--I think some were lost!!
Dick Truitt also was with us--so good to see him and be able to talk with him. He is 88 now and still going strong, mentally.

We spent the night at Lena's and watched as Samuel took some of his very first steps! I had forgotten my camera on this trip so I did not get pictures as I had hoped to. In the morning we headed over to Indiana for Bethany's 7th birthday party.

Archery seems to be making a come back among the young. We used to have a target area in a sand pit across from Camp Tosebo--we were told that there was quicksand behind the pit and to NEVER go there!! Guess that is how the grownups kept us in line.

A fun game of "Pin the Tail on the Cat".
I don't think Zach minded all those girls there at all!!!

Little Joshua was included and, of course, enjoyed the cake and ice cream.

THANK YOU NATALIE FOR SENDING ME THE PICTURES
