Sarah Lou is here

Beautiful days in Michigan

Sarah is here and we were able to visit dad yesterday.
Dad was trying to smile, but he was rather sleepy
Dad knew Sarah right away and said she was his "baby". Asked her how all her boyfriends were. He thinks we are still single. Dream on!  Ha Ha

Dad was able to carry on a very good conversation with us...said he was just so tired of all the "old" ladies...and wants to go to the cottage to put the boat in the water and to go for a swim...wish we could, Dad.. asked about mom...seems to miss seeing her but is not sure where she is.. Love you so much dad...Sarah and I were talking about all the times you helped us out financially when we really needed it even after we were married and had families..you never hesitated. You provided for all of us to go to college and  probably really denied yourself in order to do just that.  I do wish with all my heart that we could go for that swim and one last sail over the lake on a beautiful day--into the sunset

I love this song by the Booth Brothers

I hope someday that when my time is near the end that the last thing I remember will be Jesus and His amazing grace.

June 6, 1969

Today Doug and I have been married for 44 years!

I was the first child to marry -- we had a church wedding and then a nice reception at our home..
Back when weddings were simple affairs.
Nancy was my bridesmaid.
Mom was 47 and Dad was 45.
I visited Dad today at the nursing home--he looked great and is "mellow" (so the staff say).
Our youngest, Anna is our last one to marry..
She and Seth have set September 14th as their wedding date.
What happy days!!!
