Christy's visit at Sutter with George and Henry

Henry was trying to "share" his candy--we all know how Mom loves candy.
The boys had so much fun in Michigan this summer. Red Park was full of children so they were busy every minute with swimming, tennis, eating and all the fun things to do in the summer in Michigan.
Dad was not looking too lively--but Mom was certainly enjoying herself!! What a trooper.

Mom is in the last stages of Alzheimer's and yet she can still enjoy many of the things life has to offer. This day she had her granddaughter-in-law, Christy and two of her great grandsons, George and Henry, visiting and she was happy. We love you, Mom. So glad you are still here with us. You don't know that your younger sister, Marilyn, died last month and you don't have to know. I wish you could understand how much we all love you still. Michigan and the cottage are much of what they are because of you. Your love of the place still fills every corner.

George is really being a good sport here. Wonder what he is thinking about.
I could not be with Christy for much of the time she was here because I was in LaGrange with Lena.
SHE WAS VERY BUSY HAVING A BEAUTIFUL BABY BOY-SAMUEL DOUGLAS MEADE.
While I was there I spent some time walking downtown remembering the fun days of growing up in the 50's and 60's.I went by the old houses of my youth and drove by old friends houses. The high school looks good where Mom and her sisters and all of us attended. Wish we could take mom and dad back for one final journey down "memory lane"--  they have their own kind of "memory lane"- it's simple, it comes and then it fades- but  there is comfort and a measure of happiness because of all the enjoyable times they shared.
Ed and Barbara Probeck are a real love story.
