The Summer of 2014

Summer has come and gone and now Autumn is in its full splendor.
I have been waiting to post about our summer- thinking and remembering all the fun we've had.
Sarah was the first one to come in June.
Nancy came in the beginning of July to stay with Sarah at the cottage. We were able to get in to see dad a number of times. He seemed to do well with knowing Nancy and Sarah even though it had been a year since the last visit.
We went to an antique car show with dad. He ate lots of popcorn, drank lots of lemonade and had a good time.

Nancy was a hit in her hat. In fact an older lady came by who admired it and wanted it for herself so Nancy gave it to her. Days are always eventful at Sutter Living Center.

One day when we were in Ludington visiting with dad we went down to the harbor park where an old time sailing vessel was docked

Nancy and I hiked a rather steep trail on a hot day--I was a bit winded but the view was well worth the effort!

Lena came up for Anna's baby shower and to take a nice vacation. Bethany came to help with the boys and was a blessing beyond compare!

Tacy was very happy to have the boys here and you can see what a big helper I had. Samuel loves the vacuum cleaner and was anxious to help.
This is how I felt at the end of the day! Happy, but tired.

 Ezra on Samuel's 3rd birthday

It was cool when the children were here but they managed to go swimming anyway and had a marvelous time.

This is Richard Truitt's 90th birthday party with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Just about everyone was able to make it.

Joe, Joshua, Zach, Natalie, Richard, Bethany and Liz
John was here for the summer from Ukraine. It was wonderful having him here.

JOHN AND SUSAN CAME UP IN AUGUST
We visited with dad a few times and each time he was alert and conversational. Dad had a very good summer seeing his children.
JIM AND WENDY LAKE ALSO MADE A TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE FROM TORONTO
Jim is our cousin and had not been to the Wigwam since he was a boy. It was just a great time reminiscing.
