A LONG WINTER

Mom has just written this letter to her mother-when I was there visiting yesterday she was crying softly about how much she misses her. If you want to read it then just click on it and will be enlarged.

  1. Sue, this is a precious letter. I still remember the one day going into the nursing home and seeing my mom as sharp as she always used to be. I got permission to take her out that day and I drove with her through the hills of Kentucky where her childhood memories all came back to her in droves. She actually guided me to the obscure cemetery (I thought she was nutty at first, but it was really there!) where all her past family was buried. She pointed to each grave and told me who they were and how they were related. I rushed to the car to get my notebook!!! I stopped in Morgantown at an ice cream shop which had been her favorite and we both got a chocolate shake. That was the BEST day and last good day my mom had. And I was there to share it all. What a precious God we have to give such gifts and memories.
