Safe

John and Susan came for a visit and Mom and Dad knew them both right away!

Well, Mom and Dad are now at the brand new Sutter Living Center in Ludington, Michigan.
They have been there for a month, have made new friends and are adjusting very well.
Mom probably has the most advanced Alzheimer's of the 15 residents but she is happy and friendly.

We had Mom's 87th birthday there and the staff made her a beautiful cake!

Who Will Be First To Crack?

We only have nine days until they go to the Alzheimers unit in Ludington. Things have been difficult the last week and Anna was wondering who would be the first to crack.
Ed-Who looks for his car a dozen times a day and now thinks that we have stolen it and taken the money for some nefarious purposes. He wanted to call the police, so we called the police in LaGrange who had a record of him calling a year ago reporting his car stolen; they investigated at that time and had in their records that he had sold his car to the car dealer and received a check for it. That pacified him for awhile-an hour!- and then he said he did not believe the police story.
Will he be the first? Or....

...Barbara- who wants to fix everything and make everything okay again but doesn't know how to put the pieces together.

Will it be her? Or...
..Doug-who spends endless hours trying to help them to understand when he needs to be working.
Will it be him? Or...
..Susan.
(the picture says it all!)
Will she be the first to crack? Or...

...Anna-the "evil" piano player whom they think just plays the piano to annoy them, even though she has made dozens and dozens of cookies for them which they consume like they were 200-pound-football players and answers their questions all day long.
Will it be her? Or.....
...Lucy-who will probably go into cardiac arrest from all the donuts, chocolate, and grapes that they have been feeding her.
Will she be the first to go? Or....
...AJ- who goes for walks with them down the road..they think he's a dog and call him "Lucy....here girl, good girl!"
HE's having an identity crisis. He'll be checked into therapy as soon as they leave.
Will he crack first? Or.....
...Tammi- who loves to sit in their room and whenever she's in there Mom and Dad yell "Get that dog out of here!" They've also called her a mouse and a fish.
She doesn't know who she is anymore.
So, will she be first?
There's one more candidate....

....Pat, the caregiver, who has spent many hours advising them on which colors to use on their fuzzy posters.
Who do you think will be the first to crack?
Will it be
Ed?
Barb?
Doug?
Susan?
Anna Joy?
Lucy?
AJ?
Tammi?
or Pat?
Be sure to vote! :)
